VertiGals is planning THREE outdoor climbing events at three locations for 2020!
Check back in April for more details and registration information!
Whether you are brand new to climbing, or have been climbing in the gym all winter long and want to get outside and climb on real rock, this will be a great way to try it out. Womxn climbers of all ages and climbing abilities are welcome.
We are working with the University of Minnesota Duluth Recreational Sports Outdoor Program to plan day trips to Silver Creek Cliff, Ely’s Peak, and Shovel Point. Guides will provide equipment (climbing shoes, harnesses, helmets, ropes) and expertise by setting up the ropes for the routes, belaying climbers up the routes, and providing climbing advice. There will be easy routes and the option for some harder routes.
If you are a parent or guardian and are unable to find child care for the day but would like to join, we plan to have VertiGals members watch your kid(s) at the cliff while you climb.
We will meet in Duluth to carpool to the cliff.
Thanks to all participants from our event June 8, 2019!
This event was photographed by Michaela Rai, a local photographer and member of the group. Check out her photos of the event here, and make sure to check out her superb work on her website. Thanks for volunteering shooting time to support the VertiGals, Michaela!!
