About

Welcome to the North Shore VertiGals!

We are an inclusive group of women (cis and trans), trans people of all genders, and gender non-conforming climbers of all ages and levels located in Northern Minnesota and the Twin Ports.

We’re a way to find climbing partners. We’re a way to learn from each other. We’re a way to support each other. We’re a way to support diversity in the climbing community.

The VertiGals hosts monthly climbing events, occasional yoga classes, social events, and opportunities to climb outside. We hope to host clinics and workshops in the future to help women advance their skills. Check out the site to learn more!

The purpose of the North Shore VertiGals is:

  • To unite women (cis and trans) climbers, trans climbers of all genders, and gender non-conforming climbers of the Twin Ports Region.
  • To provide connections to opportunities that advance women (cis and trans) climbers’,  trans climbers’ of all genders, and gender non-conforming climbers’ skills and knowledge.
  • To enhance diversity within the Twin Ports climbing community.
  • To promote climbing safety.
  • To promote the conservation and preservation of local climbing crags.
  • To provide a platform for the interests/concerns of women (cis and trans) climbers, trans climbers of all genders, and gender non-conforming climbers of the Twin Ports Region.

Note: Each climber assumes responsibility for their own safety.
